The W192 Development Authority plan states, “the Corridor’s older building inventory does not match the requirements or expectations broadly demanded by today’s market.” The purpose of the grant program is to remove conditions of blight by using Tax Increment Financing to leverage private investment to demolish blighted buildings and bring sites into conformance with current codes. This will remove long-time vacant commercial structures and return public benefits such as enhanced corridor aesthetics, pedestrian comfort and public safety.

This will remove longtime nonconforming structures and return public benefits such as enhanced corridor aesthetics, pedestrian comfort and public safety.
